50cm cooker hood & 50cm cabinet?

That does not look very legal . Where does it come from?.

We do not use "by code" in the U.K. Is it perhaps from the U.S.A.?

Would a "spammer" or "bot" really be posting on this forum across a range of subjects, for 15 years? (you can see my joining date under the photo you have been using to search for me online). To what possible end?

Yes you are correct about drilling the wall but its not above the hob as there won't be a fixed hob any more. Yes it's a regular extractor fan sold as suitable for kitchens and bathrooms. We checked the law and this is all that is legally required. My kitchen fitter has spent the last hour drilling a 110mm hole through a 30cm Victorian brick wall (and don't my eardrums know it!?!) I took a photo and a 30-second film. Will that prove to you that I am not a "bot"?

Indeed I have been very bold, brave and radical in not having a hob or an oven!

The reason I use the photo that I do on here is that it gives a correct impression of my sex and age. I think this is a good idea so that people who interact with me on here can see that I am a woman and that I am elderly, which should make them comprehend why I sometimes sound so ignorant of modern ways and new technology and forgive me for it. If I posted a genuine photo of me you could have found my real name and address by searching google images because I have a social media presence and own a small business. I don't want to be that "exposed".

Point(s) taken. Thanks and sorry.

Air fryers expel grease along with the hot air .
We have two air fryers in the house and neither has an extractor fan or hood operative in the rooms they are used in. The main one, used daily, is underneath wall units and in a corner close to a wall. There is no grease, marks, or discolouration on the painted walls or on the underside of the wall cabinet.
