I am after a bit of guidance.
I have an old cottage, it was rewired in the early 90s so all cabling is modern. I have a modern consumer unit in the house which is fine.
However, my meter is in a rather large out building adjacent to the house and supply comes from overheads into the meter then out through a isolator box which has a 60amp rewirable fuse carrier then back out side and in to the house where it then plums in to the RCD in the consumer unit. (Where I live the supply come in on over heads)
I would like to change this isolator box for something more modern. Everything is fine, I just want to get rid of the grief of having to rewire a fuse carrier in the dark where as I could just reset a breaker if/when the need ever arrises.
I realise I will probably not be allowed to do this my self.
Any ideas.
