6yr old BAXI SOLO 3 PF 50 PCB Burnt

PCB under a black Cube to right of SL connection terminal & just behind lights, has badly blackened & weakened.
What was its function?

How can I be sure that a new £100? PCB will not go the same way?
Are there any checks that can be made before fitting the new board?

I hear tales of engineers replacing them frequently!
Is there a known weakness with this board?

I also hear that the Service Instructions may give the wrong part numbers.
Mine says its a G.C.N 379 031 Pt No. 246063, Is that right?

There is only one pcb on the Solo, and I have seen a couple where the board has burnt a big hole in the glass fibre; sadly yours may have gone the same way.

Probably a new pcb then

231711 comes with the grey panel bit and the potentiometer (which the knob turns)
The black cubes in that corner are relays, so it would be normal to check the fan and gas valve resistance/reactance but yes the pcb's on those are a weakness.

Gas valve coils are likely to be 1-5k And the fan in the region 40 - 100 ohms.

Email me for a pcb less than £100!

Yes Chis, thats the PCB.
Its the Black cube in the top right corner of your gif thats burnt through the PCB. It seems to go about every two years.

I guess the black cubes are solid state relays as there's a couple of mechanical relays on the board just behind it.

I'll do the checks then email.
