7kw electric shower

what cable should i use for a run of 9m from consumer unit to 7kw shower

6 sq mm should do it, provided the cable isn't run in insulation, but why not use 10 sq mm in case of future upgrades. (I didn't think anybody fitted 7kW showers any more... are you a skinflint landlord? ;) )

Have you checked the requirements for earthing and bonding and supplementary RCD protection? If not, search this forum for these topics, which have been done to death.
 
100% agree - if you've not bought the shower yet, I'd strongly advise you to reconsider. 7kW is very feeble.

If you have already bought it, then use 10mm², and then on the day the shower expires, you can heave a sigh of relief knowing that you can now get a decent one and that the wiring is in place to cope with it.
