8.5kw electric shower

I need to fit a new one , can only go to 8.5 with current set up .What i need to know is are they all the same basically or do you get what you pay for . You can pick a Triton up for £60 and then pay £125 if you fancy . Its not finish i want just a decent heat /flow Reading reviews some folk complain of new showers not getting as hot a s there "old ones" Any suggestions chaps

In general you get what you pay for, put some Tritons are value for money.
Triton Enrich 8.5kW, good value shower.

by the way. Wickes sell "aquatronic" that are made by triton, with a 2 year guarantee, if registered. 8.5 with power on/off switch. 75 quid

I thought you had bought a new Triton shower last week?

Why can you only go to 8.5kw on the current set up - what is the current set up?
Most manufacturers quote the power for each shower (on the box) 8.5kw @ 240v whereas inside they will give you the power 7.8kw @230v.

While your cable is probably up to scratch you're still going to struggle.
All Triton 8.5kw showers (probably all other manufactuers as well) require a min of 40Amp MCB and 45Amp for Cartridge fuse. In addition you must fit an RCD.
