Hi Guys...Some advice pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease with regard to laying 900 x 300 large format ceramic wall tiles. (A similar request for advice to that recently posted by Goooba769)
In particular, what preperation is required and what adhesive is recommended.
The location is a bathroom in a new build. The walls are skimmed plasterboard onto which has been applied two coats of Leyland latex matt emmulsion.
Is the fact the walls have been painted an issue?

Thanks for any input

Stick some gaffer tape on the paint, leave for 10mins or so then pull it off,if the paint comes off then you will need to sand it off (a chain is only as strong as its weakest link)

Prime the plaster with acrylic primer.

Use a powdered flexi adhesive,I normally use benfer or granfix and have had no problems thus far (fitted 600x600's with it onto walls)

Use an 8-10mm notched trowel to ensure a good bed of adhesive.

You've half a chance if the emulsion was silk, but if it's matt forget it. Matt wipes off when wet so it not the way to go for tiles.
