Hi,

I am planning on tiling my kitchen floor and plan on fixing plywood to the floorboards first.

I have purchased 9mm structural ply on advice and have been reading online and I am now not sure if this will be think enough?

I would squirt some glue on before screwing it down
and you could also use a flexible adhesive.

NO, if you need something thin, go for something like hardie backerboard 6mm, or if you defo want ply, I wouldn't go any thinner than 15, check ALL floorboards and joists are solid before fixing whatever board you choose to use, Backer boards are already pre marked for screws, use correct hardie screws, if using ply, screw it down at 150 mm centres

6mm no more ply, glued and screwed. Ply is old school. There are better ways now. Flexible (cement based) adhesive and grout.
