Been one of them days. Phoned wife i'll be late she said get some chips and get her a piece of ROE. Chip shop new owners are chinese I asked for fish and chips (no prob she understood that) but when I asked for roe she said battered well yes I said thinking what a question.. Got home my fish was loverly but my life drained out of me when i opend wifes to fins a BUTTERED ROLL instead of battered roe

This is a true story.

I rang our newest pizza takeaway and found myself talking to a Chinese person. With some difficulty I got him to understand my Geordie accent and ordered the pizzas. He then said, and I quote:

"Ah, you spen ofer eighteen poun so you ged two poun off or free fijan ship." I got free fish and chips - from a Chinese pizza takeaway!

PS: They were very good. We still get our pizzas there.
