A bit of good news...

So we're going back to a scheme for the well heeled students to enjoy a jolly abroad. Oh well, anything that puts back their introduction to the real world of work for another year has got to be a good thing for these lifelong slackers.

Ignorance is not a virtue. Neither is trolling.

I went to Uni with people who came from the EU to study, and some UK students on my course went to Finland for their year in industry. That the scheme was scrapped due to Brexit, just shows how ideologically driven the Tories were (and still are - see Pritel) following the brexit vote.

Just because you train(ed) young people, does not mean you are qualified to disparage young people who want to get a decent education. I work with many others who graduated from uni, and are all hard working. I also work with people who have done apprenticeships.

I know plenty of young people that did well after going to uni and racking up a mountain of debt. Some of our friends still have that £30k graduation photo proudly displayed on their mantlepieces. They’ve all done well though - most of them are now working full time in the jobs they were doing part time in major international companies such as KFC, Burger King and Argos. One of them is now a 4 star employee at McDonalds and he’s only been there 4 years!

When people speak of these clever graduates, especially those that attend top unis such as Oxford and Cambridge I’m always reminded of those that broke limbs in 2005 and wonder how much common sense they actually have. I remember seeing it on the news - they were like lemmings, blindly leaping into a foot of water. In later years, they even had to have police preventing them from leaping as lessons had clearly not been learned from past years.

The River Cherwell beneath Magdalen Bridge in Oxford is only 20-30cm (8-12in) deep in places - and anyone who jumps into it will break a leg.

Given that the only people I went to school with, that am still in contact with, left with no qualifications... yes i do. I'm struggling to see the point you are making.
