I guess (from your description that the plug was stuck) that the socket was a writeoff anyway?

I would hope you wouldn't do that sort of thing on a socket that was going to remain in service...
 
sorry to ask....

how the plug get stuck? did the pin get melt onto holder from overload?

Well, I'm no electrician, but I would imagine the implication is a 16amp welder, connected to a standard 13amp plug (fuse bypassed) & socket outlet, causing the mechanical contacts to fuse together.

I guess it should have been connected via a 16amp commando to a suitably rated supply.
