A loft ladder that goes across the joists due to position of loft hatch.

Try best to decsribe this.
Loft hatch is between 2 rooms in tge hall, so traditional pull down ladder running parralel to the joists wouldn't really work as wojld have to have drop into room almost. Now could I have it running across the joist but would there be enough room to get up with the angle of the ladders.
The loft is already floored and the hatch is platic with polystyrene fitted to it

They can be fitted either way.
They fold on top of the joists, so it doesn't matter what way they're fitted.
