A quick thank you to who ever it was (Terryplumb??) who suggested using Plumbers Mait rolled up into sausages and then pushed into the ribs of my two flush pipe to pot plastic seals.
They have both had the very slightest of drips, for decades. Several times I have taken the seals out, boiled them to allow them to reform their original shape, before refitting sometimes with silicone sealant.
I removed the seals, boiled them then applied the Plumbers Mait as suggested and so far, not a single drip from either flush.
