A3 Clutch

My daughters fella is considering purchasing an A3 ('Y' Plate) that needs a new clutch. The car is going cheaply but I have a feeling its going to be an expensive repair as he is no mechanic and nor am I.

Firstly, does the clutch come as a seperate part of does it come with the flywheel etc?

Secondly, Is it a major job (no Haines manual to refer to) to replace?

If the A3 is fitted with a dual mass flywheel, there is a chance that this could need replacing - especially if its starting to make a knocking noise.
Quote the reg number to an Audi dealer and they should be able to tell you.
Clutch replacement isn't particularly difficult on these, but ask a specialist such as Mr. Clutch for a quote.
