I thought I would put this question on here as this is the most likely area that these products would be used.

Does anyone know the abrasive comparison between '0000' wire wool and grey scotchbrite.

I've been advised that '0000' will do what I want it to do to clean up some glass but I can't find any locally. But I do have a piece of grey scotchbrite and was wondering whether this was very close to '0000' as I don't want to add further scratches.

I don't know for sure, but I'd be careful! AFAIK wire wool on glass generally won't scratch it if used carefully, but remember that the wool can become contaminated with harder particles that may scratch, and once any damage is done it's too late.
Scotchbrite type abrasives are plastic strands coated with an abrasive, which may be hard enough to scratch the glass. I wouldn't use it personally.

Wire wool will scratch glass , what exactly do you wish to clean from glass pane?.

If have limescale water spots which appear to have almost etched into the surface of the glass. The glass in question is on my motorhome.

I'd go for a cerium oxide polishing kit, I think - and practice on glass that's not particularly visible first.
The wire wool and scotchbrite are too coarse.
John :)
