Apologies if this has been covered before
powering up panel with factory links left in, inputted user code silences initial alarm but message on lcd keypad is tamper fault lockout. keypad accepts engineer code but unable to clear tamper fault message. wiring rechecked okay. factory fitted links for pa , tamp and TA left in situ. system fitted with 2 simple set readers and 1 keypad. disconnected tamper loop of these. and put link in panel (not factory fitted). Problem solved. Fault traced to tamper switch on simple set fob reader not fully closing when cover fitted. Talking to alarm engineer friend later he has come across this switch problem with optima keypads and simple set readers before apparently the coil Spring does not always compress enough to close the tamper switch terminals. Hope this helps others.
