I installed an ADE Accenta Mini 8 in my parents' house quite some time ago. Recently my father told me that part set is not setting and continues with setting tone. Full set, I am told, is OK.

I will not be able to have a look at the panel for another couple of weeks, so I am looking for any things I should look at. A few thoughts
  • I will check that the system is actually setting in full set just in case one zone is in fault and carryout a walk test.
  • Is it worth resetting factory default and re-programming?
  • The battery is probably overdue a change.
  • Panel is faulty - some cables run a little close to mains so may need to either re-route or fit suppressor on the 12V
Any thoughts appreciated.

if its been fitted some time ago, then unless anything has changed wrt to wiring its unlikely, along with the full set works comment.

I would look at the back up battery as a precaution especially if 5+ years old.

The best thing would be to take them through the part set over the phone and see what it flags up.
It shouldn't just stop working and a walk test.

Then at least you have an idea of what appears to be going on.

If full set works, but part set doesn't, then the panel should be fine; and as the full set works, it shouldn't be a cable near the mains issue.

Change the battery, check the part set zones are okay, and then reprogram first, or do a factory reset if that doesn't work.

I cant see how the user would have changed the programing, but test it out to see how it behaves is the first thing you need to do.

The battery is always a good place to look if things are playing up especially if its a few years old+.

the fact that full set is working, full set nothing is omitted, part set omitted zones and e/e changes usually if that's changed then the user must have changed the programming and you need to check the programming.

Thanks for the comments guys. I'll have a look at the end of this week so I will check programming just in case something has changed - Dad shouldn't be able to as only I know the engineer code. It did have a problem a number of years ago and I had to jiggle the wiring about between zones. Could be time for an upgrade!
