Over the last few weeks, Ive noticed loads and loads of acorns on the ground.

So much so, if you stand under an oak tree you are likely to get hit by one, walking the dog in the morning, Ive nearly been hit by one a few times.

Can't its something Ive noticed in previous years.

Is it just me? Is it just this area? (sussex)

There's a lot of oaks where I walk my dog and yes, there does seem to be a lot more this year than last. Totaly confuses my springer. He's bouncing around looking for them as they fall. I'm in S.Wales.

Collect them, roast them, and use them instead of coffee beans. The posh name is Eichel-Kaffe During the war 1939-45 in Germany it was called Ersatz Kaffe ( replacement coffe ) as coffee beans were then in very short supply. Apparently it is claimed to be more healthy than "real" coffee as it has virtually no caffeine.

Does it taste good ?

Definitely won't touch them then. No point in drinking coffee if it's not going to kick you into action. I suspect this'll only be a 2 coffee morning for me today.
