Is acoustic sealant any different to intumescent sealant? I came across one that seam to have the same properties as no nonsense intumescent sealant. Is it the same stuff as the price is different

Could well be the same stuff in the tube but acoustic stuff has been tested and a BS number issued.

One soundproofing retailer who sells "acoustic sealant" makes a point of saying that the tubes they sell may say "intumescent" but it's the same stuff.
This may, perhaps, not be true of all intumescent sealant.
