'er Indoors would like a "Plastic" clear splashback for the new kitchen.

Any ideas whether Acrylic or polycarbonate sheet would be able to cope with the heat from a Gas hob when used as a splashback ?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers Mick

I would say no as there are not fire proof and I'm not sure what the regulation are,I would use tiles or stainless steel sheet which have a high fire resistant.

Absolute toddle they are perfectly safe for electric hobs

They would also scratch with ever clean and look disgusting in a matter of weeks.

Savvy .. Good grief. even electric hobs will ruin a plastic splashback. Stainless , glass or tiles are best.. oh yeah and granite.
OP stated gas . Gas safe regs would say no!
