Activities with kids...

I've got three boys., and looking to find activities to engage them all (ranging 6 - 13)...

Kiting is one, but dependant on the wind.. but what about bow and arrows, or even chuck arrows... anyone remember them?


Any other ideas?

I made a friend's 5 year old a bow (a proper yew one) a year or so ago and she loves it (and soon learnt some disapline in that she learnt not to shoot at people).

well if you want to turn them off archery

I remember chuck arrows and as kids used to spend hours and the dowel was in plenty of supply as my dad was a keen gardner and couldnt understand why his flower/veg support sticks kept going missing

did you use playing cards as flights?

We used to put nails in the front of our arrows for shooting cats.

And fishing twine for the sling shot.
Just make sure if you are going to make these they use them in a wide open deserted space.
Apart from the safety factor if the PC brigade see you there'll be trouble.
They can't see it as part of a boys growing up!
