Hi there
wonder if anyone can give me some info pls.

I would like to add a 2nd ceiling light in my garage to the existing circuit
currently there is one light ( std energy saver flour ) connected to 2 switches ( one on either end of the garage )

Do I run some cable to the existing light and connected there or what?
It is the std screw off light housing from a new build.
what size cable?

Thanks in advance

You'll need to run 3 core (twin & earth eg) from the existing light to the new one.

On the existing light there will be connections marked L, N and E
these stand for live, neutral and earth,.
Connect one end of the cable to these terminals.
Coobnect the other end of the cable to the terminals on the new light which will also be marked L, N and E

Easy huh?

I have no idea what you mean. Light fittings are very varied and different.
Generally, light circuits are wired in 1mm or 1.5mm² cable.

Yep - just connect the new light to the old - live, neutral & earth.

Same size or larger cable as is currently used - probably 1.0mm² or 1.5mm².
