adding floor sockets

Hi,
I want to add 2 floor-mounted double sockets to a ring main socket.
The socket doesn't have any spurs at the moment and I plan to protect the extra sockets with a 13A fused spur.
Is it allowed to floor-mount the FSU or does it have to be wall mounted to comply?
 
You can put it anywhere that you like, providing it's not an unsafe position (I mean like a trip hazard, or something).
Also the cable must run in safe zones. But why have an FSU at all?. Better to extend the ring to include the new sockets.
