Evening all,

I've taken some architrave off and noticed there is quite void behind. I'm thinking before the new arc goes on I could add some insulation wool as long as I keep a cold space behind? Could this cause any problems or a sensible thing to do while I have the chance?

The void is deep so I was thinking about insulating about half way.

Wouldn't do any harm putting a bit of insulation down there mate.
I'd try to use insulation board incase condensation gets to it. Ruins the wool form if it gets wet

Use expanding foam, then you won't have a gap to worry about.

Thanks for the responses all.

Just incase anyone comes across this in the future, the plasterer filled it up with expanding foam. Done the trick.

Cheers
