Hi
Could some one please advise me, A friend has removed a conservertory from the back of his house and built a solid room in its place.
He has asked me to reinstall the sockets and light circuits that were existing in the old installation.
This is not a problem using new cable of course I have done the first fit, however at the supply end it seems the sparky who installed the orignal circuit found a problem and I am not sure if his solution is sound.
The consumer unit is the old fuse type with the upgraded MCB add ons but it seems there was no spare outlets for a new circuit. So what has been installed is a 13amp fused junction from the fuse box (I have not had the cover off but I assume this will be supplied from one of the existing used 30amp MCB's so the will be two outputs on the one MCB).
Which inturn the ring for the extension is terminated. Is this acceptable or is the a better way of adding the ring for the extensiion without having to upgrade the fuse box.
Thanks!!!

need a CU upgrade..

he's taken a spur from the ring ( albeit at the source of the ring.. )...

the limit on the sockets at the moment is 13A.. and is fine.. though he needn't have wired it as a ring..

i hope he's taken one leg out of the fuse and into the FCU and then a new leg back to the fuse..
