Hi, I hope to install 10cm diameter round vents into the casing above our patio doors in the kitchen. My monitor tells me the space behind the plastic fascia is empty. Can anyone forsee a problem with this e.g. breaking weatherproof seals?

I'm wondering about installing the vents external in different positions to the internal ones so as to disrupt airflow a little. Perhaps even installing 2 on the outside and 4 on the inside.

The reason for all this is that our kitchen extractor fan is disrupting the updraft of our gas fire 2 rooms away. We've already taken steps to fix this by adding ventilation in the lounge where the gas fire is and cleaning the chimney, the next step is to add ventilation in the kitchen and small vents above the patio door seems like the most cost effective way of dealing with the problem.

Thanks for any help.
