Hi,

I will be purchasing some self adhesive brush seal to help eliminate draught. But what really isn't clear is where I install the seal itself.

I've attached photos of the door frame where I will be installing it. Where do I install the brush seal:

1. Would I install the brush seal on the SIDE of the door frame, so the brush part touches SIDE of the door when it closes (aka where the striker plate is),
2. Install on the door frame FACING the door, so when the door closes, it will push against the brush seal.

I imagine option 2 would prevent the door from closing properly? If anyone can share best practices when installing these seals, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Where is draft coming from?
They vacuum test new and old houses.

Maybe consider researching and do what you can. I never think it's the best Idea to seal internal doors.

I'd fit something like this.
Pin nails are easy for fill then paint if you remove.
thanks, the source of the problem is definitely the exterior door leading to the garden. The door frame I pictured is the entrance to the utility room. The exterior door is is behind me. The exterior door is made of timber and I think it's a bit more difficult to fix that one, hence why I was looking at the interior door as it might be "easier" to seal.

Why do you say it's not a good to seal internal doors? Surely it cannot do any harm? Yes it's not fixing the issue at the source, but we're trying things a step at a time on the lowest possible budget. We would like to fix the external door of course, but a few tradespeople we've asked, have not blown us away with any good ideas. We've had a quote to replace the timber door with a upvc one, but were not filled with confidence that this will solve our problem. We'd rather not spend over 1k for a "maybe" or "should".

Draft seal the external problem door then.

If you have open fire or gas fire that will pull air in creating draft.
