Adjusting door height

I've seen some other questions on this but they don't seem to be quite the same as mine.

My door is binding slightly on the step and I need to raise it a little within the frame. There are three hinges, picture below. Obviously I need to adjust them all equally, and very carefully to keep them in step.

Each hinge appears to have access for adjustment above and below. I would like to know whether the correct screw is above or below the hinge, and which way to turn it to move the door up. I don't want to just play and see what happens.

That's an SFS 2D hinge, height adjustment is from underneath, tightening the bolt will lift the door but looking at it they've already been lifted somewhat so there may not be much movement left, the bolt above doesn't adjust anything, it's just a locating pin. Be aware though because the bolt is underneath tightening it will appear to be anti clockwise, you may also need to undo the little grub screw to the lower pin as well in order for it to turn

That's great thank you. I didn't notice a grub screw but will have a closer look tonight.
Just to confirm, turning anti clockwise is looking up at the screw from underneath?

No looking at it from above it's anti clockwise, from underneath looking up then it's as normal clockwise,

Could be the door needs toe and heeling correctly, hence the past adjustments.....

I've given each hinge one full turn, and that seems to have been enough to lift the door off the step.

As you said, the hinges have already been offset quite a bit, which is odd because there is no sign of any movement in the frame or wall that would have needed so much adjustment.

Also the three hinges on the frame have different offsets on their adjustment threads (I measured with a calliper), which means they have not got the same spacings between the hinges as on the door. I would have thought that the hinges would have been factory mounted on the frame to ensure the exact same spacing as on the door. Perhaps the hinges were only fixed after the frame was fitted?

So the immediate problem is sorted, but I'm not happy that the door is properly mounted. I don't know who fitted it.
