ADT RRI comms technology

Does anyone know how ADT's RRI system communicates with the panel (Galaxy G2)? In particular if there is any aspect of the local phone installation that might interfere with correct operation - call blockers, instant pickup answer machine, etc?

Most panels are answer phone defeat it will ring around 3 times hang up , this puts the modem in ready mode to pick up on the next call ( so answer machine has to have more than 3 rings to answer)
