advent 3312 power saving mode

just bought new pc so old one put in my sons room.
however when i power it up monitor stays in power save mode ie amber light on. if i disconnect monitor cable green light comes on and message on screen says self diagnostics check signal cable no signal
when signal cable re connected blank screen amber light again.
is the same with or without pc tower powered up ?

Have you tried a different monitor? It's just as likely to be a PC fault.

Is there more than one graphic adaptor in the PC?

Have you checked all cards are seated correctly?

sorted took out and re fitted graphics card working ok thanks
