Hi all,

Pretty new to this whole homeowning/DIY world - but trying to do more around the place each month.

Need some advice here though.
Our bathroom extractor fan failed just before christmas - and for various reasons it took the electrician several weeks to get a replacement up and running.

In the interim despite opening the window the walls really suffered.
Also it seems that even when the old extractor was running it wasn't powerful enough...

End result is some parts of one of the bathroom wall having turned to a crumbly sand like substance.
All the internal walls have dried out nicely ready for me to decorate this weekend - but wondering what to do for the best with the "sandy" external wall.

Picture attached in case helpful...

Any tips - is it as simple as removing the loose bits and filling/sanding/sealing?

Thanks
Steve

id say have a good scrape around and see how bad it is any blown patches ect.
patch with a good filler if you need to re plaster the wall DONT use bonding in a bathroom
