Small update. I have solved the pillar issue by sacrificing space. I am going to use Celotex XR4120 (120mm) on the walls. I am then using 20mm battens and 25mm Celotex on the pillars which will make the whole wall one flat surface - effectively just buried the problem under insulation
.
One thing I am struggling to find an answer to is how best to attach everything. My thoughts at the moment:
1. Attach the Celotex to the battens (just a couple of fittings to hold them in place) and tape up the seams.
2. Attach the plasterboard over the top, with the fixings going through the Celotex and into the battens.
What are the best fixings to use, what is the most sensible way to deploy them?
I've been looking at things like the Fischer TermoFix 6H-NT which is for the insulation, but I'm not sure what to use for the plasterboard? Part of the problem is I will need a screw long enough to go through the plasterboard, the insulation, and into the battens - it's a long way!
