Hi People,

I have a brick wall seperating my kitchen and morning room. I have only recently moved in. Im not sure what the wall use to be but im guessing it is some kind of chimney. Does anybody have any ideas and if so will it be possible to knock through and insert an RSJ? Any ideas on costs also?

Thanks

Have a look at my profile, there is a pic I have uploaded.[/img]

yes buddy its a chimney,
If its not in use you could remove bits of it and then stick an rsj in.

You would have to remove enough so it can be supported by a gallows bracket, then boxed up and painted to the rest of the house.

But it will be messey!

Thanks mate,
I thought it was a chimney. What is a chimney doing in the kitchen? Do you have any ideas on how much the job would cost? We are going to move into the house soon so a list of possible costs would be great.
