Hi all,

I'm preparing to lay 8mm laminate next week in my hall/living room, 1930s house, floorboards. Is 5mm XPS okay or should I opt for slightly more rigid 5mm fibre board? I'd prefer the XPS for its thermal and mould resistance but also concerned with 8mm laminate it might be slightly too spongy and t pressure on the joinings? Maybe I am over worrying!

Thanks

I only use the fibre board on upper floors as it has slightly better sound deadening properties . Xps fine for ground floor .
