Advice please.Bricklayer course

Hi,

Been taken for a ride by bricklayers on 2 occassions.Both did not understand the concept of a step wall.One made it wonky and could not get a straight line.The other made wall good but with a slope in between pillars.

I want to learn bricklaying.Now I am not going to master it overnight,but want to know how to lay bricks and start at a point and get a straight line.Could someone direct me to the right direction please.By the way you cannot learn on you tube.It looks easy but it is not.

I can attend course in the evening.I am looking somewhere around london or essex area or even surrey woking zone.

Try your local council they often have courses I did one years ago in Bromley they had a magazine "floodlight" I think it was called, at the time giving all the courses avaiable.
