I'm currently in the process of redoing a bathroom and having changed the size/layout of the room, I've removed the old soil, basin and shower wastes going through the wall and now need to close them up.
The largest one once I knocked away the old mortar around the edge is about 200mm diameter.
I've bought some aerated blocks and the plan is to just cut to shape as the above photos show and mortar them in
These are the type of block

This OK for the job?
Once the mortar has gone off I'll make up a sand & cement render to patch the existing wall finish.
