i am doing a basement conversion,
have dpc injected in the internal walls.
it as been suggested after that, it would be wise to render about a metre in height with sand and cement.

That is normally the recomendation using waterproof render. Although I cant see it would be much benefit in a basement unless the retained height of soil was very low?

halfax, you need to research this site for basement/damp issues.

injecting a basement is a waste of money. if you injected every brick in all walls damp would still penetrate - think it through.

render specs suggest sand-lime and sometimes one of cement and an additive. far more detailing is reqd for the tricky business of basement rehab work. research, or all your efforts and money spent will have been in vain. in fact, you might cause even further difficulties.
