I have a late 1920s end terrace house. I need to install some air bricks to ventilate the subfloor. The wall is solid brick wall ( not a cavity wall). I understand that there is a gap between the leaves of the solid brick wall althougth it is very small

When the airbrick is fitted, should I fit a sleeve/liner to stop air travelling between the leaves of the walls.

Does anyone know where I can get sleeves/liners sized for solid brick walls.

Thanks

An air brick liner only needs to be long enough to seal any cavity, not go all the way across the wall. But there is no harm if the liner sticks out the back either.

So a clay longer will do.

Thanks for your replies.

It would appear then that a sleeve/liner is necessary for a solid brick wall. Thanks
