how can i remove an air lock after draining whole system.only hot water affected have hose but not 100% sure of procedure. thanks

The theory is to attach a mains pressure water supply to the affected tap(s), turn them on and the cold water pushes any air back up to the header tank....
The biggest problem is connecting the cold without getting soaked!
Its possible to use a wet vacuum cleaner and try to suck the water through, or if you have a mixer tap thats air locked, turn the hot on, hand over the spout, then turn the cold on gently...should have the same effect!

as i'm not sure of the pipe setup in flat [it seems to have been altered many time over decades] if i run a hose from kitchen [cold] to basin/bath hot tap approx 4/5 metres would that be the logical coare of action.
lovely day so getting soaked to solve problem seems appealing!!!
thanks[everthing in flat is 30/40 years oldless boiler and c/h :? javascript:emoticon(':?')

Yes, that sounds about right....its also possible to get a cold water supply from the washing machine outlet, if thats easier.
Various hose attachments are available from the likes of B&Q to make the job easier.

should i bleed the rad that is in line with rthe taps[as it gets hot even with only hot water switched on] does that make any sense as i have no idea of pipe scematics

A rad that is on the same line as the taps......? Two different systems here - what I've said is how to remove air locks from the domestic hot water supply.
If you have a radiator heating issue then thats different - if the rad is heating with only hot water selected, then its likely to be a zone valve or similar problem. Best get the hot water sorted first!
