So now air to air systems are closing the gap to air to water systems by adding heat recovery to a water cylinder for hot water. Still cheaper than air to water systems and far superior. Mine is superb and saves me a fortune.

I think we should all start a revolution to ditch the gas. No need for it and it is a very inneficient way to heat your home, only the energy companies will want to keep gas, even bang on about hydrogen systems so we keep the undergound pipe infrastructure alive for them to keep making money. Gas boilers are old hat like the old gas lights are now.

You need your meds looked at mate. Pmsl

A 2 bed terrace house with no solar, it’s going to cost an absolute fortune to keep the house warm.

It only works in the perfect situation.

Gas will be about for decades to come

Many ASHP installs are subsidised by the tax payer

We were advised by a couple of ASHP training centres to take out indemnity insurance

Some legal firms are sending there people on ASHP courses ready for the mis selling / bad advice claims that will be coming down the line

We installed a couple of ASHP in new builds 20 years ago work quite well unlike the 250,000 £ lake source heat pump system we were indirectly involved in the leccy bill is horrendous

Was down my mates on Sunday he has gone ASHP imported a unit directly from China

Also ripped a couple of ASHP systems out as well

My units are brilliant, Daikin you just cant beat them for quality and efficiency. Cooling in the summer and heating in the winter.

Who designed your system, i.e. did the supplier. Did they also install it?

Heat pumps are good gear, the problem is as you hae said, the installers (good ones) are in very much short supply.
They work in a very well insulated house with proper controls and properly specified.

They won’t keep an old terrace house warm.
