I am sorry if this appears a frivolous and trite question to some readers, but, on two occasions when I pressed the Submit button I got a box up with the message: Ajax has timed out. Please try later.

I have found this on the Microsoft site:
ASP.NET AJAX is a free framework for quickly creating efficient and interactive Web applications that work across all popular browsers.

So maybe DIYnot is using this technology. If it is, the system generated messages need to be modified to make them more relevant to the users of the site.
