Alarm sounding for no obvious reason, any help?

Good afternoon,

I think my wife mentioned it going off and I’ve encountered my house alarm sounding upon my return. Both times when I’ve put the code in to cancel it comes up Landing. I’ve inspected the landing PIR, landing area and my girls bedrooms and nothing seems obvious to be setting it off.

The alarm I think is a Castle Euro mini with blue led PIR’s, similar if not the same as these. Age is 15 years old. I replaced the battery in the Control box circa December 2023.

Any pointers? @sparkymarka - old threads seem your knowledge is abundant.

No, we don’t go out with any windows open. I’d have to open the detector up to check for a spider. I’ve had a glance around and can’t see any.

Yes mate, omitting the dining room where the dog is kept. Would it be worth swapping the detector for another functional one if I find no spider or dust? We had an engineer out some years ago and he replaced the hallway one. Do you know if these are reliable?

Budget detector but not a troublesome detector, have a fair few in the field including the version before with the red LED have replaced a few over the years ….
