Hi,

Having an extenstion built at the moment and already have an insulated slab down. To get up to FFL I will need approx 60mm of screed but as I understand it takes 1 day per 1mm to dry. I really don't want to wait 60 days before I can start to fit my new kitchen so I am looking for an alternative. The finished floor will be covered with vinyl flooring. I was thinking a leveled timber frame covered in chipboard flooring to match the FFL of the rest of the house perhaps??

Many Thanks

Mike

Use a dehumidifier. Once the screed is a light grey in about five days, you can carry on

I've heard "forcing" the drying time can lead to bubbling or cracking. True??
