Tuesday late evening, I was ordering something off Amazon. These were my delivery options:

Join Prime
Free standard (arrive Saturday)
£2.99 (arrive within 24 hours)

I wasn't in a rush for the item, so I selected free standard. Previous experience has told me delivery would most likely be before then anyway.

Sure enough, the item was delivered next day, arriving mid afternoon.

This happens more often than not when I order stuff from Amazon. I always select free delivery if given as an option, and the item/s nearly always arrive more quickly than stated, often as quickly as paid delivery.

They must make a fair bit extra £££ through people paying for delivery, when the item would have arrived just as quickly if they hadn't!

Just had similar, I dont pay for the delivery, needed it Wednesday as I knew I would be in all day - If I ordered Saturday it would come on Tuesday - no good as I might not be in so I waited and ordered Sunday - great says will be delivered on Wednesday -- it came on Tuesday anyway.

Plastic boxes for parcels weighted down with paving slabs makes everbodys life so much easier. Add a padlock if you wish.

I gave up smoking years ago.

I am now addicted to nicotine gum.

Most days, I can get same day delivery via my Amazon Prime.

I also have a subscription for the gum, but on Monday I noticed that my subscription would not turn up until Tuesday. There were no same day options. The only same day delivery option was Amazon Fresh. I ended up having to pay £42 for two boxes and then bucket loads of crisps to reach the free delivery (over £50) in 3 hours option.

The Dorito Paprika crisps were incredibly cheap at 30p per packet though...

Meh. The joys of being an addict.

I do take up their offer of prime for £1 when they offer it from time to time. It might be for a week or 1 month and I binge on all the stuff I want to watch on prime vid

I often get stuff delivered to one of the local lockers. More convenient than home delivery.

I avoid Prime rightly or wrongly cause I've read it can be a nightmare to unsubscribe.

It is really easy. I think there are a few "Are you sure you really want to do this" stages to go through.

Worse is when they try to trick you into signing up in the first place.
Yes that is really bad.
