is there a trick to getting a decent finish ?

i cant seem to get rid of the brushmarks on a flat surface

and it always seems patchy

never had any probs with uk paint

paint is lowes own brand kitchen and bathroom enamel (water based)

but will it affect the finish ie the sheen

i assume you mean water ? theres no info on the can

Floetrol would be better for improving paint flow and will not change the sheen, nor will it make the paint thinner.

About 4 - 5% water does it for me - just enough to let it flow.
