Would anyone be able to give a vague idea as to how many litres of paint might be required to paint six timber window frames (excluding primer) both *inside* and *out*?

The paint manufacturer recommends 2-3 coats of paint.

The six frames each measure 1700 mm x 900 mm.

Thank you!

The coverage tends to be printed out on the back of the paint tin. I'll let you work it out because am rubbish at maths.

Litre of primer, same of undercoat, two and half of top coat.

Sills and frame come in all sizes, me being me I'd get 2.5 of each.

It's quite normal for people to use the exterior stuff primer and undercoat on all surfaces (in and out). Most would use an interior top coat on the inside.

Exterior paints are designed thick and while brilliant outside in weather are a bit heavy for interior use.

I've used exterior gloss and statinwood indoors, and I don't like the finish compared to a interior gloss or satin.

Do use a trade (not contract) paint outside the extra cost means more years between recoats.
