I'm not sure that can be asserted, we'll never know in relation to this case. As I mentioned earlier, had the perpetrator been non white, it's entirely possible their ethnicity would have been shared just as quickly.

That aside, I do agree, if the consensus is the public should be made aware of ethnicity asap, then it should be applied to all cases, unless there is a justifiable investigative reason not to do so i.e. to release the information might hamper police progress.
