So we all read on here, from time to time, queries about how to change a lockshield to a TRV, and the associated problems of draining down, changing pipework, flow or return, one-pipe systems etc, and then all the problems of refilling, airlocks, newly acquired sludge build-ups etc.
So, how about this - developing a one size fits all actuator type thingy which will replace the current plastic k nob and which is basically an electric motor that rotates, but which is controlled using a thermocouple type thingy placed somewhere nearby (or possibly as part of the housing itself).
Thus room gets warm, and the existing valve is closed via the motor, and vice versa. No fitting skills required - it just clamps over the existing valve.
