My TV signal stopped sometime during the day today. ( I think it was ok at 7am)

It's not the amplifier.

There is a 12v antenna power supply unit and Antenna Antiference unit UPFR25U

The PSU is only putting out 9v (off load) where as it should be 12v.
The LED comes on, on the Antiference device.

1. Do you guys think its the PSU at fault of Antiference unit ?

I've bypassed it for now and got working TV.

2. Do you think its still need in this decade? It must have been fitted well over 10 years ago under previous owner ship

Thanks

If it works without it then turn it off.

Was it perhaps originally fitted prior to digital TV? That may make it obsolete today?

Switch the mains power off completely to the Ariel amp. Is the amplifier PSU unit hard wired or plugged into a wall socket? If it's plugged into a wall socket then get a lead to connect antenna wall socket to the TV direct. See if that improves the signal (the amplifier is normally 'Passive' when unpowered but does cause a signal loss) it will be weaker but should provide enough signal for most channels to be received.
Do a retune of the TV.

If that doesn't work then it's probably new coax to the Ariel.

It probably was not needed when put in. Many DIYers fit them unnecessarily.
