anti syphon trap

Mainly for kevplumb but any advice appreciated. Anti syphon trap has plastic disc inside ASD when top taken off. Should this be removed, and should the top be screwed hand tight or left loosish?

You should not open the ASD, except to clean it if it fails to seal. The disc is the sealing device - do not remove! The top should be a tight fit to deter unauthorised fiddling......
