Any recomendations for Glass Atriums on a flat roof?

Hi

We are planning on building an extention 6m x 4m in the near future and its a toss up between a tiled apex roof with inset velux windows and a vaulted ceiling, or a flat roof with a 1.5m x 2.5m glass atrium in the centre.

Cost wise I am not sure there would be a great difference, but the flat roof atrium option would not need planning permission as would be with PDR's as no higher than 4m in centre, and 3m at eves.

I am not sure what an apex tiled roof with 4 velux windows would cost over a quality flat roof, but I am guessing that with the Atrium in the region of £3500.00, it would be a fairly close call.

Has anyone had any experience with these glass atriums and any supplier recommendations?

you could get the glass roof cheaper imo, search the aztec conservatory system for the pod roof, dont skimp on the glass though

Glass atrium roof = trouble....

....unless it is expertly done.

A pitch roof with skylights will also be warmer.
